Hello! I am very excited to be teaching at this wonderful school! This is my fourth year teaching here and I have to say, I love MIDDLE SCHOOL! We have a lot of fun together. My favorite part is the culture days. Specific days where the students learn small portions about the culture through interactive learning. We have learned some dances, had a guacamole contest, built Quinceañera dresses out of cardboard, made Sugar Skulls(day of the dead), and dove into the complex art of Hispanic Snacks and Novelas which are the staple of modern-day culture. I attempt to give the students a good understanding of the culture while also learning phrases and tons of vocabulary through games, projects, and constant communication.

I chose to be a Spanish teacher when I realized it had all I wanted; linguistics, grammar, culture, music, food, etc. It was a pretty awesome realization that I did not have to choose one particular passion when they were all grouped together in one subject. Then my first year teaching I realized how much I truly loved Middle School and that's how I ended up where I am. I am originally from Juarez, Chihuahua, or El Paso, Texas. I moved here to go to college at the University of North Texas. Since then I fell in love with the DFW and have made my home here. I frequently go visit my family, though, so in holidays you can typically find me back in El Paso. If you ever have a question about the class, please e-mail me.
