Welcome to Leadership Prep School
Home of the Lions!
Leadership Prep School is a highly regarded Charter School located in Frisco, Texas. Our
new secondary school facility, which opened August 14, 2017, serves
our middle school and high school students.
We are committed to academic excellence. Our staff of professional
certified teachers and administrators foster a learner-centered
environment where classroom teaching is prized. Our students are
trained to be grounded in the world of leadership, values, history,
ethics, arts, music, communication, and creativity.
Everything we do is centered on excellence. We purposely created
our school as a center of excellence for both our students and faculty.
We motivate and challenge our students to integrate excellence into
everything they do, from school to sports to work to family. We expect
our well-prepared and highly-motivated faculty to model excellence for
our students in all areas of their lives.
Inspiring a lifelong love of learning
Leadership Prep School was founded with a mission to inspire
students to learn, grow, and lead for a lifetime.
Parents are the fundamental educators of their children. Without
strong communication and partnership with the parents, a school
cannot achieve much. Students must also be actively taught how to
lead themselves and others.
A proper understanding of leadership correlates to character, values and
authority. Academics of the highest caliber incorporating current research
into the structure of our curriculum and classrooms are also a high priority,
but with a much more creative approach than is used in most schools. We
believe creativity breeds excitement, and learning can and should be fun.
Offering school choice in the greater Frisco community
Leadership Prep School is a charter school that serves students who live within
the geographic boundaries of Allen ISD, Aubrey ISD, Celina ISD, Denton ISD,
Frisco ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, McKinney ISD, Plano ISD, and
Prosper ISD. A charter school is a nonsectarian public school of choice that
operates with freedoms from many of the regulations that apply to traditional
public schools. The "charter" establishing each such school is a performance
contract detailing the school's mission, program, goals, students served,
methods of assessment, and ways to measure success.
As a public-school option, Leadership Prep provides a free-tuition
school, with open enrollment. Our school receives funding from the
State of Texas and is accountable to state policies as well as our charter.
Our curriculum is set to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS),
and all of our resources support these standards. We utilize a range of
assessments to evaluate student learning including informal questioning,
written tests, projects, and standardized tests. Writing is an essential
component of our instructional model because we believe it is a
much-needed skill in the glocal (global-local) market, as well as a
valid assessment technique.
Our mascot is The Lion.
Our district colors are navy blue and white.
Our students wear uniforms - polo shirts with trousers, skorts, or shorts
