Notice of Publishing Cut Off Date and Opt-Out
The yearbook deadline is set by the publisher and is typically in March to ensure all students have books by the end of the school year. Any events or school portraits taken after that time cannot be included in the yearbook.
We are constantly striving for more inclusion of all students, and may use the spring photos in next year's book. Please email any spring sports or social events to email@example.com so that next year's staff can access them. Please note, the yearbook staff does not monitor the inbox outside of the yearbook production season, September-March.
Media Denial Notice
If your student is not pictured in the yearbook, please review your selection for media publishing in the Parent Portal, and contact the school's registrar.
See Section 6, Important Notices page 112 of the Parent and Student Handbook for details about the FERPA Directory Information Opt-Out Form (may also be completed with registration paperwork online.)
Notice of Directory Information FERPA, a federal law, requires that LPS, with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records.
“Directory Information” means information contained in an educational record of a student that would not generally be considered harmful or an invasion of privacy if disclosed. FERPA permits LPS to designate certain personal information as “directory information,” which may be released to anyone who follows the procedures for requesting it as proscribed in school policy. To prohibit LPS from releasing your student’s directory information, you must circle NO adjacent to the appropriate statement(s) on the Opt Out form, sign the form, and return it to your student’s school. Completion of this form is optional. However, if you do not circle NO or return this form, directory information about your student may be released in accordance with LPS policy. If you have more than one student enrolled, you must complete a separate for each student.
